Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question for us, feel free to contact us and we’ll answer it.
Do I have to be vegetarian to become part of the community?
You do not have to be vegetarian to join the messageboard, LJ community, or do anything else to involve yourself in the VegOpt community. The name Vegetarian Option is an inside joke explained here, and in no way defines this community. However, we welcome all vegetarians to join too - one of our admins is vegetarian, while the other two are not!
Where have all the articles, rambles, reviews, and creative gone?
They have all been removed, we felt that we were no longer actively promoting and taking part in that section of our community, so decided to remove that section from our site.
How do I join the community?
Just sign up to the messageboard.
Is Vegetarian Option an elite site?
Vegetarian Option is not an elite site. We do use our discretion if one wishes to join the community, but this mainly to prevent spam submissions (we’ve had them before!) as well as making sure that people that are interested in joining are not people who will run amok within the community.
Does an admin have to approve my account at the messageboard?
The messageboard does not require admin approval to join, however it is member locked. This mean that when you join you will need to post an introduction thread before access to the entirity of the board is given, this is to protect our members and to ensure that you aren’t a bot of sorts that only registered to swipe our threads and posts. Previously we had implemented admin approval, however, for various reasons we now simply require a user to validate their account before being allowed to post.
How do I see who is part of the community?
By signing up at the messageboard.
How do I get my site to be included in the footer rotation?
The footer rotation is a prize that is included with various competitions/drives run through the messageboard. Often, part of a prize package will include a certain number of months’ exposure for all of a member’s sites in the rotation.
