Vegetarian Option
Welcome to Vegetarian Option, an Alice and Manda production. Vegetarian Option is a community website (which has NOTHING to do with vegetarianism) where friends can get together, share ideas, theories, gossip, news, and generally hang out. Crazy individuals, with a penchant for madness. We are a group of people with similar and varying tastes that all love to come together and chat.
About VegOpt
VegOpt began as an idea on September 15, 2006; Alice and Manda were chatting along on MSN, as they usually did almost every day. Wanting to put together a community-esque site where they and their online friends could chat and be able to know each other better, they decided that the best way to do that would to be to have a site where all their friends would be able to post and contribute to the site for that community feeling. Thus, Vegetarian Option was born! VegOpt has now been running for over two years, celebrating two anniversaries. It has change many times over this period, developing from a site which posts stories, reviews, and debates into a Message Board community.
Vegetarian Option is not related to anything to do with vegetarianism, contrary to our name. It is actually an inside joke, which came about like so:-
- Manda: We could name it something to do with chicken, but not everybody likes chicken.
- Alice: Chickendoodles? Chickennoodles? Chickeninbloom? I have a big chicken obsession, it's worrying!
- Manda: Are we going to offer two names, a chicken one and a vegetarian option?
- Alice: OMG YES. WE COULD OFFER A VEGETARIAN OPTION! It's like a story!
- Manda: Yeah I like that!!
- Alice: Weeeeeeeeee we are the vegetarian options!
